Waterproof plank
Rigid-core luxury vinyl plank is waterproof through the plank itself — a good fit for basements, baths and mudrooms where hardwood would cup. Seams and edges still need correct installation to keep water off the subfloor.
Licensed, insured LVP installers laying waterproof luxury vinyl plank, luxury vinyl tile, sheet vinyl and scratch-resistant laminate — floating or glue-down — in kitchens, basements, rentals and whole homes across Boston, Reading, Winchester, Lynn, Chelsea, Revere and Greater Boston.

01 — What you get
Luxury vinyl plank gives you the look of hardwood with a 100% waterproof core, so spills, pets and wet boots stop being a worry. Laminate adds a harder, scratch-resistant wear layer for busy hallways and family rooms. Both float over most existing floors, which keeps the install fast and the price predictable.

02 — Why vinyl & laminate
Why LVP is such a common choice for Boston kitchens and basements.
Rigid-core luxury vinyl plank is waterproof through the plank itself — a good fit for basements, baths and mudrooms where hardwood would cup. Seams and edges still need correct installation to keep water off the subfloor.
Click-lock planks float over most existing floors. A whole-house LVP job is usually done in days, not weeks.
Typically well under the cost of hardwood, with a convincing wood look.
Attached pads and cork underlayment make LVP quieter and warmer underfoot than tile — a plus in condos and upstairs units.
03 — Options
We bring samples to the estimate so you see them in your light.

A rigid core, a locking edge and a surface that shrugs off water.

04 — How it goes
We measure, check the subfloor and bring plank samples. Itemized quote in writing.
Old floor out if needed, subfloor flattened — floating floors telegraph every hump.
Planks clicked or glued, expansion gaps set, transitions and stair nosing cut on site.
Trim checked, site cleaned, move furniture back the same day.
05 — Questions
Most LVP installs in Greater Boston run $4–$8 per square foot installed, laminate $4–$7. Rigid-core planks and subfloor leveling push toward the top of the range. Estimates are free and itemized.
Yes — rigid-core (SPC/WPC) LVP is 100% waterproof through the plank. Standing water can still reach the subfloor at the edges, so we seal perimeters in wet rooms.
LVP for anywhere water is possible: kitchens, baths, basements, entries. Laminate where scratch resistance matters most and the room stays dry: hallways, living rooms, home offices.
Usually yes — over tile, vinyl, hardwood and plywood, as long as it is flat and sound. Carpet must come out. We check at the estimate.
Very. With a sound-rated underlayment it meets most association IIC requirements, and the fast floating install keeps building disruption short.
Quality LVP with a 20-mil wear layer lasts 20–25 years in a home; commercial-grade longer. It does not refinish, so we help you pick the wear layer for your traffic.
It adds appeal — buyers like waterproof floors in kitchens and basements — though hardwood still carries the higher resale premium in Boston. For rentals and basements LVP is the smarter spend.
